Relationship counselling helps you to make the most of your relationships, past, present or future. You don’t need to come along with your partner to benefit from Relate Counselling, neither do you have to be in a relationship.
Relate’s confidential service can help you work through relationship difficulties, past or present. Some people seek counselling because they have experienced separation or divorce and would like some help with beginning to move on. Others may be having an affair and are unclear about the way forward for them and their relationship. Some clients seek support with their family difficulties. Whatever the issue, Relate is able to offer support for a wide range of relationship difficulties.
Many people believe that Relate is only here to help with the major crises in people’s relationships. We are the first source of help when people face divorce or separation; affairs or major conflict. But we are also here for the worries that might seem trivial or minor. Even if things are going perfectly for you, we can help keep things that way. We can help you to find the support that is best for you and at a time to fit in with your life.
If you are aged 16 or over, call 0300 7729681 to book an initial appointment.
Once you have made an appointment with your local Relate Centre you will be seen by a trained professional who will ask some questions about you and your partner, your relationship and what you hope to get out of your contact with Relate. At this stage you will also talk about the best times for your sessions, and you will discuss the cost of counselling
Most counselling sessions take place face to face, however, telephone and email counselling are also available. Please ask for further details.
Relate can help you look at events in your past which might be affecting your relationship today.
